The shooter was killed after border patrol agents in McAllen, Texas

Active shooter armed with tactical gears and rifles, McAllen in Monday, McAllen, Texas, opened fire on border patrol agents in Texas.

Agents and local police fired and the armed person killed. Federal agents were not hit, but a McAllen police officer was shot. Law enforcement sources say the officer is in a stable condition.

Law enforcement agencies believe that the attack is a purposeful ambush targeting border patrol officials.
