Passengers were rescued from ferry fire


At least five people died and 284 escaped from a ferry fire on the shores of Sulwesi Island of Indonesia.

The Indonesian navy said that everyone was removed from the III Barcelona ship KM III.

Passengers were seen in the water with life signs to escape from the flame.

The Indonesian Navy, Maritime Security Agency (KOMAM) and local search and rescue teams were placed in joint rescue efforts.

The cause of the fire remains unknown.
