1Password introduces ‘nearby items,’ tying passwords to physical locations

1Password added a new feature that allows users to label their entries with physical locations. In this way, when the user is close to the location of credentials, this information will be surfed in the Password Manager’s mobile application. This feature of ‘nearby items’ feature, quickly presents the most suitable information available for the customer quickly and reduces the need to remember the right details or remember what you call the account.

Location information can be added to any new or existing element in 1Password box office. The application has also been updated with a map view to set and see the locations of your items. In the post announcing the feature, the company showed examples such as a workplace, in a doctor’s office, door codes for health notes, gym wifi access and local shops for location information for local shops.

The Privacy and Security Password manager is a paramount and 1Password has confirmed that the user’s location coordinates are used only local and left the device. The nearby items are available for 1Password client starting today.
