A doctor fighting for women’s health on the frontline of Ukraine

A group of women in a village village near the Ukrainian front line painted a silently in a silent and white ambulance, the Ukrainian flag, which is blinded by a doctor with a shaved head, painted blue and yellow.

For many of them, the first time those who see a doctor since the war started three years ago.

Since 2022, Dr. Serhii Bahsheyiyev, 53, and the occupied mobile clinic performed more than 1,000 gynecological examinations in the occupied women – ‘Women’s Service’ and the Bright Pink Exam Seat.

“This is a humanitarian voluntary mission. It is for people who are not in doctors or hospitals, and are completely free,” he said.

The war with Russia has been attacking more than 1,440 offices to the Ukrainian health care system and since occupation.

When the war began, Dr. Baksheyev, a midwife and gynecologist, first spent his days in Kiev.

The idea that he came to the clinic on the road, then, afterwards, after medical volunteer missions, medical centers and hospitals revealed the facilities.

“We went to a very damaged Kharkov and Chernihiv and the most difficult thing could not show gynecological services because there was no means and equipment, because everything was damaged,” he said.

Dr. Bakshyeviev and his team had to use something that he had to kneel on the floor, including examination desk, including old sofas.

Today, walking around the electric vehicle, Dr. Baksheyev is incredibly proud of the capabilities: he needed soils and his team in these distant areas, so much ultrasound machines and medical equipment, including such ultrasound machines and medical equipment.

During a two-day mission, the team examines the Cervix and Vulavi to 80 colposcopy, as they are studying for cancer or cancer tissue signs.

The figures provided by the Ukrainian Ministry of Public Health and the BBC show demonstrations, rains of eggs and cervical cancers have decreased by 17% and 10% since 2020.

When Dr. Baksheyevi, doctors entered those areas to carry out exams, they find something higher than the average level of malignant tumors.

On average, about 4% of all women, according to Frya Ukraine, the medical organization is diagnosed with malignant tumors after investigating the volunteers of Dr. Bakshyeveyev.

Dr. Ulana Supron was the Minister of Health since 2019 since 2016. He says that health results are concerned with the procrastination in the battle.

“There is absolutely concerns about what will happen because the war continues in the public health society,” he said.

“Only in terms of physical health, both in terms of mental health – because there is a constant stress, sustainable psychological trauma.”

Dr. Supron, the government’s 964 medical institutions affected by Russia, 964 medical institutions have been able to reset partially or completely.

“They are trying to develop a plan on how we can restore the health care system in place before Russia and other international organizations,” he said.

Despite a cancer diagnosis in September 2024, Dr. Bakshyeveyev continues voluntarily and provides women to women in the country.

“In addition to medical examination, you hear them, because many patients have stories about how the Russians attack the villages of the Russians,” he says.

“So we are not only doctors, therapists for these patients.”
