Forest striker ‘was outstanding’ says the past cartridge howe

Chris Wood, Nottingham Forest Goal Machines, as prepared to meet the Newcastle on Sunday afternoon, was tagged as ‘Oustanding’ by the former manager Eddie Howe.

Wood was signed by HOWE to help keep Newcastle in 33, 2022, but only four Premier League sleeves in two seasons before being allowed to move to the forest.

Howe said: “I think he is superior. Chris helped us in the struggle in a really difficult situation when he comes to us.

“We felt that we need a focus point in this position. As a team, one of us can put pressure on us and give us a physical entity. I thought he did all of these things and was outstanding for the team.

“Probably, I guessed how much it affected our style and our game. Then the return of Alex’s (Isak) Fitness and Callum (Wilson) continued his return.

“I am very happy for him because I was a great character for him, gave us everything for us.”

Newcastle lost three of the last four games, but only three points from the top four going on the weekend.

Howe wants to see a disappointing defeat in Manchester City last weekend.

He said, “There is no certainty in football, I can definitely say. But I think there is an understanding that we do not play.

“There is a concept that we do not do well. We are definitely covered with players and look forward to a great response.”
