Meta is reportedly testing in-house chips for AI training

Meta says a domestic chip for AI systems, which is part of a strategy to reduce the trust of hardware manufacturers such as NVIDIA.

According to ReutersAI designed to manage special workloads, Meta’s chip Taiwan-based company TSMC was partnered with TSMC. The company is pilot the chip “a small placement” and plan to increase production scale if the test is successful.

Meta previously placed a special AI chips, but to use the models – do not grow them. As Reuters Notes, the company’s company’s chip design efforts have been canceled or re-scale again after the internal expectations are not responded.
