Meta, TikTok argue YouTube should be included in Australia’s under-16 social media ban

The Australian passed to the Australian last year Law that prohibits social media For all people under 16. Now some of those companies – that is, Meta, Tiktok and Snap – are not happy with one exception: YouTube. Australia, Youtube, as a critical means of education, allows you to enter a platform on Google, despite its original hypothesis, Reuters and Guardian report.

This is followed by the last month report Seeing that Youtube is the most popular platform for children aged 13-15, the age range from the Australian Esafety Commissioner – with only a quarter of the age range – anyone under the age of 16 must be part of a family account that offers parental control to use YouTube.

Notes from great technology were shown. “It is meaningless to restrict the two platforms while releasing the third, but to release coca-cola,” Tiktok called the Australian government for failed transparency, and called the government of the government, “The mockery of the government to protect young people.”

Snap repeated his colleagues’ concerns, “Explicitution should be a fair and impartial application, and all services must match the same standard.” At the same time, SNAP should be this messaging service and thus should not be part of the ban.

Australia Prohibition of social media For 16-year-olds, it must come into force until the end of this year. Time will say that the great technological anger will change the effects of youtube.
