Microsoft open sources a command-line text editor and more at Build

In the 2025 conference, Microsoft’s opening includes a number of applications and tools, including a new team-line text editor for Windows called Edit.

The open source program cannot earn direct income from the company, but can serve as a funnel of market research and paid applications and services. By contributing to the open source community, Microsoft earns valuable knowledge and product offers, as well as ideas for future directions.

With the Windows Insider program, the edit will be installed on Windows Insider program will allow developers to fix the direct command line directly by managing the “Adjustment” order. The goal is to allow unnecessary context passage to minimize and remain in the current streams of developers, Microsoft says.

In another place, in the Microsoft VS code, auxiliary coding expander for Visual Studio code is open soming copilot. Over the next few months, GitHub will move to the Open Source Depot of Microsoft’s open source depot of the Copilot extension, Microsoft’s open source depot.

Finally, Windows System for Linux (WSL) says Microsoft, which allows users to manage a Linux environment directly in the Windows system. This will allow developers to enter the source code and make any changes to a certain use.
