Sibanye-Stillwater mining company says all employees are safe and are provided with food for their rescue.
Rescue work continued in South Africa on Friday, as it was trapped by more than 200 miners in a gold mine for the second day.
Mining company Sibanye-Stillwater, Thursdays, miners, in the deepest company, Kloof gold miners were arrested after the “mile event”, he said.
He said that all employees were gathered at an assembly point where all employees were provided with food, as an effort to remove them.
“It was decided to stay at the bottom-shaft station until the workers continue to continue the surface,” he said.
The total number of captured workers was not immediately clear. The news agencies said 260 people were trapped, a company spokesman said that 289 miners are in the shaft.
The Union of Minaworkers, who represented the staff at the Klouf Mine, said they were trapped for more than 24 hours, because Sibanye-Stillwater recalled the estimated time to buy employees.
“Mine is very concerned because this event does not reveal such an event,” said Num spokesman Livhuwani Mammur.
