Donald Trump offers a large part of the global tariff regime, offers the Chinese economy, says the country wants to force a convenient deal to the United States. However, officials in China have not been determined – the tariffs will damage Americans more than Chinese and the comparison between the movements of Donald Trump and Mao Zedong ‘Cultural Revolution.

Chinese officials also responded in part to the Donald Trump’s tariff program: “If the United States is what the United States wants, we are ready to fight for a fare war, trade war or any other war.”

David Rennie is a columnist with the economist, which was previously worked as the magazine as a Beijing correspondent.
