Woodside, 15-year LNG supply contract with Petronas

Australia’s Woodside Energy agreed to provide a million tons of liquid gas (LNG) to Malaysia, Malaysia multinational oil and gas company Petronas.

Non-Aligned Agreement (HOA) describes the annual supply of LNG since 2028.

LNG will be caused by the WODSIDE global portfolio, including recently confirmed Louisiana LNG project.

WOODSIDE Vice President and General Commercial Officer Mark Abbotsford said: “We have seen the beginning of a new period of cooperation between Woodside and Petronas, and the Woodside’s Louisiana LNG has seen and reflects our reputation as a reliable energy.”

The agreement is set to ensure that Petronas’s Petraline is a stable and flexible supply of Petraline, the peninsula in Malaysia and a larger Asia-Pacific region.

Now both companies are trying to convert HOA to the sale and purchase agreement.

Petronas LNG Marketing and Commercial Vice President Shamsai Ibrahim added:

Petronas is trying to protect and manage Malaysia’s hydrocarbon resources. The company plans to achieve net zero carbon wastes by 2050.

In April 2025 Woodside, Signed Deals with Uniper LUSIANA from LUG to a million tons (MTPA) (MTPA) and worldwide, to provide up to 1MTPA from Woodside Energy Trade Singapore to 1MTPA.
